People Like Us will be performing as part of wildpop 2025 conference and performance event that takes place over Newcastle University’s Culture Lab and also Star & Shadow Cinema. We have programmed Friday afternoon’s and evening’s events at S&S with lots of fantastic people (Saturday is great as well though!) and hope you can come along to all or any of it! In collaboration with Culture Lab (Newcastle University) wildpop 2025 brings together artists, performers and writers to make a noise (in the broadest sense) around the extent to which our cultural consumption is regulated by corporate interests in ways insured to keep us feeling powerless to stop their absolute colonisation of all humanity.
Following an afternoon of presentations and discussion in the Star & Shadow Café, and a morning of conference presentations at Cuture Lab, Friday evening’s programme features performances from Elaine Mitchener & Loré Lixenberg, Dina Kelberman, People Like Us and YEAH YOU, with DJ Kenosist weave the sequence together with their customary array of sounds.
